- FORUM DIGITALE supplies the comunity of Civitella d’Agliano with an informatic
centre connected to the Internet for opening windows on the future of telecommunication
systems and offering the possibility to experiment directly the immediate transformation
of digital informations. FORUM DIGITALE wants to contribute to a critical consciousness of
the distributive dynamics of the new tecnologies setting up an experimental environment in
which the medium of telecommunication is’nt proposed with speculative finalities but
on the contrary, offered as service for free experiences. FORUM DIGITALE collaborates with
international partners, invited by the CdA Project, promoter of the subject “Art and
Telecommunication - Universality and Balance”.
- Realization of the project
- First Stage
realized in the ambit of the CdA Project 1994 “Comunity” in collaboration with
INS (Institute for Network Studies, New York), set in motion an experiment on
telecomunications by conceiving and installing for the Community of Civitella
d’Agliano a telematic station connected to the Internet with public demonstrations of
its potentiality and working.
- Second Stage
in realization in the ambit of the "Forum Romanum Digitale" project.
In 1995, the Civitella Prototype has been included in a wider discourse confronted by the
Forum Romanum Digitale project, which is connected by the idea of a free communication
platform. Apropos has been realized at Rome, in october 1995, an international seminar
with numerous experts in which the following question had become central: If the digital
city is the new dimension, metaphor of a concept that transforms the urbane events in a
global and direct communication, what is the philosophy and who are the co-operating
individuals?
- Third Stage
outstanding at Civitella in the ambit of the CdA Project 1996 FORUM DIGITALE:
- Inauguration of the informatic centre FORUM DIGITALE
 This centre consists of a
hexagonal pavilion that comunicates with a luminous ensign its function and illustrates
with wall designs the global connection. The structure is equipped with: personal
computer, fax- modem, 2 monitors, laser-printer, scanner, video-camera, monitor tv,
video-recorder and audio-amplifier.
- A rurale community contributes at the future of telecommunications
Since summer 1996 are proceeding the courses for teaching the ABC of the new means of
telecommunications to always other groups of the population.
Furthermore are in course telecommunication projects proposed by the international
partners of the CdA Project.
